Canon’s new SD1100 IS has all the features you could imagine for a camera that’s about the size of a pack of cards. Some awesome features include a healthy 2.5-inch LCD monitor, a 3X optical zoom, built-in optical image stabilization, Face Detection, 30 frames per second movie mode, a small, but still quite useful optical viewfinder, 8 megapixel still capture mode, an excellent 640 x 480 and many other neat features. Face Detection is the newest feature of today’s point-and-shoot digital cameras. Canon’s version of face detection performs great in scenes that have a moderate amount of light. The Canon SD1100 found faces quickly and accurately, even from a long distance. The Canon SD1100 not only sets autofocus with its face detection algorithm, it also sets exposure which is quite useful since having the face exposed properly is key to a good portrait.

Easily the greatest bargain among pocket cameras, the Canon SD1100 has it all: small size, sleek design, optical image stabilization, a good lens, face detection, custom modes, and a low price. Though it’s an improvement over last year’s incredibly popular SD1000, the Canon SD1100 retains the impressive image quality, despite a slight increase in resolution from 7.1 to 8.0 megapixels. The Canon SD1100 increased in thickness just a little, probably due to the addition of image stabilization, but it’s still quite comfortable to hold, and it slips discretely into most pockets. High ISO performance was reasonably good, with ISO 1,600 still producing a decent 4×6-inch print and ISO 80 and 100 maintained surprisingly good quality at 13×19 inches. Overall, the Canon SD1100 is an improvement to an already impressive camera.

This camera is nothing short of amazing. First, the size. It literally fits in your hand! The size means the camera can slip into a shirt pocket and go ANYWHERE. I wear an orange safety vest at work and this camera fits neatly into a pocket. In the two days I’ve had this camera, I’ve taken almost 150 pictures! Entirely due to the size of the camera. It goes everywhere with me now.

This camera is awesome. I LOVE the color and it’s the perfect size and weight. The pictures come out great. The menu is easy to understand. I’ve already gotten so many compliments on how nice it is!!!! I’m not sure how the battery life is yet since I just got the camera…seems good so far. This camera was pricey but I love it so much it was definitely worth it.

I bought the camera just 3 days before leaving for Spain. The directions were adequate and the camera is really easy to use. I not only shot photos on automatic but used the night and color options, as well as did a few movies. The software was essential because I prefer more contrast to my photos and the software allowed me to customize the images as I liked.

Took this camera to Europe with me. The battery life is super long and it captures photos perfectly! I love it. I’ve used it for about a month and have had absolutely no problems.

I bought this camera right before my trip to disney world with my family and have never been so pleased! It takes great clear beautiful pictures, very light weight and easy to carry around, and has great quality for its price. I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I would definitely recommended buying it!
