Looking For A Great Gift For Halloween? Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End on Blu Ray

After the action of PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MAN’S CHEST, anti-hero Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is trapped in the netherworld of Davy Jones’s locker. Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) has returned from the dead to aid Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann (Keira Knightley) in their quest to rescue the beloved captain. They journey to Singapore to ask for help from notorious pirate Sao Feng (Chow Yun-Fat), and with this new alliance, they travel to the edge of the earth to find Jack. Then they will join forces with the world’s most powerful pirates to unite against Lord Brackett (Tom Hollander) and the East India Company. AT WORLD’S END is an exercise in excess, boasting a running time of nearly three hours and a labyrinthine map of double- and triple-crosses. Characters return from the dead and change allegiances with ease, thanks to the magic of Tia Dalma (Naomie Harris) and the pirate code of ethics–or lack thereof. Though the third film in the series is filled with action and special effects befitting any blockbuster, it’s the performances that make the movie memorable. Depp has earned an Oscar nod for his role as Jack, but he’s not the only one who shines. With Jack locked away, the film sits on the strong shoulders of Rush, as well as Stellan Skarsgard as Bootstrap Bill and the brilliant British actor Bill Nighy as Davy Jones. Despite having to act behind a mess of CGI tentacles, Nighy nearly steals the show, as in the previous films UNDERWORLD and LOVE ACTUALLY. This is literally and figuratively the darkest entry in director Gore Verbinski’s trilogy, as the film trades the sunny skies of the Caribbean for the world’s most treacherous seas. There’s plenty of rum-soaked humor, but it’s balanced by betrayal and sacrifice.

Sure the story is a bit confusing at times, but that just makes me want to see it again. Johnny Depp lacked a little something in Dead Man’s Chest, but he is back in true form here. Orlando Bloom has gotten better in the acting department and it was great to see Geoffrey Rush back as Barbossa. I really thought Keira Knightley pulled off the tough chick thing here and that surprised me. The CGI is incredible and the music will have you moving in your seat. Don’t listen to the critics and just have a good time with characters we all love.

This movie is one of the best movies ever made. The action is spectacular .It has great cast and acting. Johnny depp is outstanding and Kiera knightley is hot. The visual effects were outstanding. Definately the best of the three

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End was a very pleasant surprise, considering how the “professional” critics once again being COMPLETELY out of touch with reality gave the film such low marks (e.g. CNN’s “Even Depp can’t save clogged ‘Pirates’” and E.W.’s poor reviews). Picking up from where Pirates of the Caribbean- Dead Man’s Chest left off, the film continues to shed light on the ongoing adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow, Will Turner, and Elizabeth Swann among others. The movie brings to the screen exactly what the title says: Pirates-and lots of them!
But that is not the only thing that there is plenty of; it combines action, adventure and comedy, making this trilogy one of the best of its kind, thus, resurrecting interest in sea bound adventures after a long dormant period.

“You afraid to get wet?” Davy Jones asks a fitting question to fans of the Pirates of the Caribbean. The movie is dripping wet with all of the fan-gripping elements the first two are famous for. The climax was spectacular. The Black Pearl versus the Flying Dutchman in a vortex of swirling water. The screen shots and special effects were eye-popping. The two ships were on opposite sides of the whirlpool firing cannons at one another, and as they get closer and closer, not only are the cannons used at point blank range, but the boarding parties as well. That is when the ultimate question will be answered. Who will stab the heart of Davy Jones?

This was a fantastic film. It was just as entertaining as the first two. I usually do not pay much attention to Disney. However, when 1 came out they got my attention and have held with 2. With 3 they have kept it. This is the best trilogy I have seen. You must see all 3 and you must pay attention. Then you understand the saga and will enjoy it. The acting, music, action, and scenery have lived up to high standards in all 3 movies. I am going again tonight then again tomorrow. It seems there may be more in the future. I hope so. Go see this! It is worth it. Just pay attention.
